The news came suddenly and hard to beleive,
God wanted another Bubba and
"He" had to leave.
The Conch Town He loved would go into shock mode,
Tears flowed down cheeks and obviously showed.
A Giant among men, this Man of the
Law,
Served his island community without a flaw.
Named after
a President, "Franklin Delano"'
He took pride in his Name and it always did show.
We knew him as Frankie or Franklin by name,
He always extended Patriotism and Love
without shame.
A Proud Grad in 1954, from Key West High,
He
looked forward to their Reunions as the years flew by.
Work Ethic would include a stint at
the Local Gas Company,
Then on to Kress on Duval Street but this was temporary.
A Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy he would become,
For 23 Years of Service with tense
moments and also Fun.
He rose in the Ranks and worked security in various jobs,
For Presidents and The Beatles keeping them from the Mobs.
He left the Dep't in 1980
and took on other Occupations,
Like the Conch Chatter Cafe' at its Flagler Ave location.
Former Wife Barbara, partner Helen and Family who grieve,
Will Fondly recant a Cigar
Smoking Gent who had to leave.
Good Friends like Jerry Pita and Robbie Lastres,
Will miss their meetings where Frankie was the Master.
He whipped up a Conchy Breakfast
to everyones delight,
His Patterson Ave Casa was always the popular sight.
And Franklin Delano Hernandez break out your Sax,
Entertain our departed Bubbas and
they will surely relax.
Thank You for being such a True and Gifted Friend,
You Earned the term"Bubba" right to the very end.
Conch Town has you in
their "Hall of Fame"
On its Famous Wall is inscribed Your Name.
From a Saddened Friend,
Donnie Williams
